Mother fuckers were going well below the speed limit on I-275 with their flags falling off their cars that I had to swerve around. I also saw 2 wrecks where they rear ended each other. I had no idea that it was gonna happen today otherwise I wouldn’t have left the house. This is what happens when I try to leave the house early to beat traffic in order to give my brother a gift. So now I’m back home and doing some day drinking and listening to albums.

Cincinnati. Or the ring of highway that should act as a moat against the unwashed hoards that live in the surrounding hinterlands of SW Ohio. Sadly, it doesn’t work as well as it should. And also many of the privileged who live within the safety of that ring have been conditioned to believe that they are under attack by the poors who live in the city.

Basically Cincy sucks along with the rest of Ohio when it comes to issues of race, inequality and justice.

S peaking of day drinking... W e were out getting groceries, dropping the mail off, etc about noon today and came back through the big winery district thinking it would be deserted with the horrible forest fire smoke we have - nope! All the wine gardens were packed with people outside drinking wine while choking on the smoke, at noon. Also interesting, there were a bunch of folks out in convertibles and jeeps with the top down driving around in the horrible smoke. I think folks really are starting to loose it...

I grew up in Wilmington.

The sense of ‘community’ that small-town upbringing imparts has been corrupted to only include people who are exactly like one’s self. Anyone ‘other’ is to be feared and fought against.
